The Crucifix upon my neck, like the ring upon my hand,
Serves a three-fold purpose, though mere symbols, understand?
They do not change a thing of me. They do not make me grand.
They simply tell a story; they're mere symbols, understand?
The first purpose is the story of rememberance to me,
Of commitments I have taken, their absence wouldn't change a thing.
The second purpose serves as a story to others, this is so,
Of the need to contact spouse and priest, when my spirit and soul go.
The third purpose serves as a story to others, who query with more than eyes,
That the story is much greater than the one I advertise.
The Crucifix upon my neck, like the ring upon my hand,
Serve a three-fold purpose, though mere symbols, understand?
They do not change a thing of me. They do not make me grand.
They simply tell a story; they're mere symbols, understand?
